Quality Control

From approved sample to packed order.
Clear checks for materials, construction, fit and finish.

Calorie Sportswear team reviewing fabric and color options for a custom apparel order
Why quality matters to your brand

Your customers experience every detail.

A customer sees the finished garment, not the work behind it. Fit, seams, color and presentation all influence how your brand is remembered. Quality checks connect your approved sample with the products that carry your name.

  • Keep the fit consistent.Compare measurements and garment balance with the agreed size chart, so variations can be identified before the order reaches your customer.
  • Protect the details that define your brand.Review fabric appearance, logo placement, construction and finishing against the approved reference.
  • Make clearer decisions before shipment.Identify differences while there is time to discuss correction, rechecking and any effect on the order.
The quality control process

Eight checkpoints.
From sample to shipment.

Each stage answers a different quality question. The checks below follow the order through materials, production and packing, with the approved sample and written requirements as the reference.

  1. CAD pattern making for a custom streetwear collection at Calorie Sportswear
    01Before production

    Approved sample & specifications

A clear reference gives every later inspection a consistent starting point. Review the approved sample together with the latest tech pack before bulk work begins.

    • Confirm the size chart, measurement points and agreed tolerances.
    • Match fabric, color, construction, artwork, labels and packing instructions.
    • Record sample revisions so superseded details do not enter production.

Follow-through: Resolve open specifications before they become repeated production differences.

  2. Color cards and fabric swatches selected for a custom clothing order
    02Before cutting

    Incoming fabric & trims

Material differences can affect an entire batch. Review incoming fabric and components against the selected reference before they are used.

    • Check for marks, holes, yarn irregularities and visible shade variation.
    • Compare hand-feel, appearance and relevant weight or width requirements.
    • Review rib, thread, zips and other trims; identify any required wash or colorfastness tests.

Follow-through: Identify affected materials and clarify suitability or replacement before cutting.

  3. Fabric layers prepared on the cutting table in Calorie's production workshop
    03At the cutting stage

    Cut panels & alignment

Accurate panels support consistent shape and balanced construction. Check the cut components against the approved pattern and relevant garment details.

    • Compare panel shape and key dimensions with the pattern.
    • Review grain direction, paired pieces and alignment of matching details.
    • Keep size groups and relevant shade batches identifiable during assembly.

Follow-through: Review panel differences before they are sewn into a finished garment.

  4. Industrial embroidery machine stitching a custom garment detail
    04At the decoration stage

    Print & embroidery details

Your logo and artwork are part of the product standard. Compare the decoration with the approved artwork and technique sample at the appropriate production stage.

    • Check artwork size, placement, orientation and selected colors.
    • Review print definition or embroidery coverage, edges and thread finish.
    • Look for distortion, puckering or damage around the decorated area.

Follow-through: Clarify an incorrect result and recheck the adjustment before repeating it.

  5. Sewing operator constructing a custom garment on the production line
    05During assembly

    In-line sewing & construction

Inspect relevant operations while garments are being assembled. This is the point to catch recurring workmanship issues and trace them to the operation that needs attention.

    • Look for skipped stitches, broken threads, uneven seams and puckering.
    • Check collars, ribs, pockets and joins for secure attachment and alignment.
    • Review symmetry, component position and relevant in-process measurements.

Follow-through: Identify the affected operation, communicate the correction and inspect the revised result.

  6. Measuring a waistband against the approved specification for a custom order
    06After assembly

    Measurements & garment balance

The finished fit needs a measurable reference. Compare agreed points with the size chart, using the specified method and product-specific tolerances.

    • Measure relevant points such as chest, body length, sleeve, waist and inseam.
    • Review left/right balance, paired details and the shape of the assembled garment.
    • Account for washing or finishing where those operations affect the measurement stage.

Follow-through: Record out-of-tolerance points and confirm the next action against the approved requirement.

  7. Quality inspection measuring a finished garment against approved specifications
    07Before packing

    Finishing & final garment review

Bring appearance, construction and identification together in a final review. Examine the garment after its required finishing operations and revisit earlier issues.

    • Check surface marks, loose threads, pressing and overall presentation.
    • Review decoration and test the operation of relevant zips, buttons or fastenings.
    • Confirm brand labels, care information, size labels and hangtags against instructions.

Follow-through: Confirm inspection coverage and acceptance criteria for the order; resolve outstanding differences.

  8. Finished custom apparel packed and prepared for shipment
    08Before shipment

    Packing & order accuracy

A correct garment still needs to reach you in the correct assortment. Compare the packed goods with the order breakdown and agreed packaging instructions.

    • Review folding, individual packaging and size or color identification.
    • Check quantities and the required size/color breakdown.
    • Compare carton markings and packing information with the confirmed order.

Follow-through: Correct packing discrepancies and confirm outstanding quality decisions before shipment arrangements.

The inspection sequence and scope are confirmed for the product. Decoration, washing and finishing may occur at different points depending on the construction.
